Monday after work the sun was shining and we finally had a snowsuit for Iris so we went for our first family walk. It was great to get out of the house and enjoy the fresh air.
It was so warm out that the snow was melting and we had a a lot of mud in the yard lily was very intrigued by it and had fun squishing her boots in the mud.
Tummy time, Iris has been awake more this week and has been doing lots of tummy time, she can lift her head up and turn it in the other direction a few times before getting upset. She is one strong girl.
Playtime
Lily loves her books and will sit for awhile and just read. Now at nap and bedtime when Mike and I read to her she will identify things and animals she knows and is very proud of herself.
On Wednesday I ventured out with the girls all by myself for the first time to go to a local mommy group, so I got the girls loaded up in the bus (our double stroller). It was good to get out of the house unfortunately though besides Lily the next oldest child there was 6 months old. We will go back since she had so much fun and it is good to connect with other moms for awhile.
Mike said the other day that he feels like he doesn't get to hold or cuddle Iris very much since she seems to always want to be eating, so I pumped a bottle for Mike to feed her with and was actually able to sit and eat my whole supper at once while he stopped and feed her. Iris really wasn't sure about this bottle thing at first but quickly liked the idea when she realized that it had milk in it.
Lily loves putting things in bags and carrying them around, on Wednesday night she decided going shoe shopping was the thing to do. She went and filled her bag with 4 pairs of shoes and then proceeded to unpack them and repack them in her bag.
Mommy's big helper sweeping the floor for me.
Friday Mike had yet another snow day after having a storm through the night and into the morning, by lunch it had calmed down so Lily, Mike and Halle went outside to play. They ran around and feed the ducks, I have to say I LOVE the picture of Mike carrying Lily with Halle chasing them.
Lily and I made Nanny's birthday cake and as always she had a blast baking.
Iris was not as excited as Lily to make Nanny's birthday cake.
Saturday there was a memorial basketball tournament for Mr. Armstrong the teacher that passed away earlier in the year. Mike was one of the organizers so I took the girls up to visit daddy and have lunch.Lily had gone up to the school a couple of times with Mike and loved watching the basketball game for awhile, she got so excited when everyone cheered for the team clapping and shouting yaaa!!
Making nanny her birthday card took a very serious attitude to get it just right.
Lily believes in the theory that more is more, and she was more than happy to keep adding lots of sprinkles to one spot on her nanny's birthday cake.
More Iris
Lily likes to strip off her clothes and run around the house naked all the time, but when she decides to go outside there is never any need for shirts or pants. All you need is your boots, jacket, hat and mittens and you are ready to go.
Sunday morning we went into town for Nanny's birthday but before heading to lunch we went to visit Uncle Shawn and Sally. I have to say Shawn was much better holding Iris than he was with holding Lily, and Lily was two months older at the time. Sally and Shawn gave Iris a beautiful blanket that Sally's mother had made.
Lunch at Swish Chalet with Nanny, Aunt Lisa, and cousins Marina, Larissa and Bianca.
Nanny holding Iris for the first time.
Birthday cake and fun at Nanny's house.
Lily has started to not like getting her picture taken and when I try to take a picture I get NOOOOO yelled at me as you can see from a couple of her no photos.
a few more pictures from this week :)
