We are going to the zoo

Tummy time again but boy can she hold her head up high now.

While mommy and Lily were putting away supper dishes Iris did it she rolled over for the first time and we both missed it. Mike however missed it because he was playing on his phone sitting right by her. Iris has since not rolled over again and we are waiting for it to happen.

My sleeping beauties, it is a rare night they are both asleep by 8pm so it is great when they are.

Lily playing with Iris and the twins, first she read them stories and then made tea for everyone. Iris enjoys playing with her sister and 'friends'. (yes we do hang out in our pajamas most of the time)

Iris practicing her tummy time and check out what her sister is getting up to.

Lily getting tea ready for everyone and making sure things are running smoothly at her store using the microphone on her cash register.

Time is flying and my baby is getting big Iris now sits in the high chair while we have supper and plays with her toys. It doesn't seem like that long ago Lily was still using it.

The house across the way from us was getting a sea wall built to save their eroding property and Lily was fascinated by the dump truck and  backhoe. She would watch them for 20 minutes at a time and every time the dump truck brought more rocks we would here the rumble and Lily would run to the window yelling rocks, rocks or woks, woks to be more accurate.

After rainy yucky weather for 4 days straight mommy got brave and took both girls to the park by herself because both Lily and I were starting to feel a little shacky wacky. It was great to get out of the house and enjoy some fresh air Iris had a great long nap and Lily ran, ran, ran and got some pent up energy out of her system.

Burning that energy off..

Lily is used to the playground now and is feeling comfortable there because she tired out some new pieces of equipment. She taught herself how to go up the chain ladder and a green climbing ladder (which I didn't get a picture of due to someone else wanting a snack). Lily also tried to climb the hoop ladder which was too tricky for her so she decided that she would just hang out in it and play with the rocks.

Saturday Vicki came down for another visit unfortunately it was too yucky once again to play outside for long, but we had a great visit anyway. We all went to lunch at the small diner which has a cute retro feel to it.

I had wanted to go to the zoo for Mother's day and get a zoo pass with Lily's birthday money so we could come back all summer knowing she would just love it. From the parking lot you can see some of the horses and Lily was so excited as soon as we pulled in it was a great day and thankfully the sun shone for us. The cougar was the first animal we stopped to see and she was up walking around and Lily was amazed.

Lily was so good getting in and out of the stroller  to make our way around the zoo. Lily wanted nothing to do with feeding corn to the deer and goats. I think they made her nervous coming almost through the fence to get the feed. When we got to the miniature horses she was so excited one of the neigh neighs (what she calls horses) was near the fence eating grass out of a ladies hand. They left and we were able to pick some grass and give it to Lily to feed the horse and she was over the moon. Iris just hung out in the stroller relaxing.

Stopping for snacks we sat and watched the peacocks yell at each other and Lily kept pointing to the monkeys which were a favorite of hers. We even found a another monkey named Lily at the zoo but they were sleeping so I didn't really get a chance to introduce Lily the monkey with her name. The lamas ran away from us when we tried to go near them, all three took off as I approached them holding Lily.

I told Mike that we were definitely going to take Lily on the pony ride because she would love it, to which I was told we would see how much it costs. Well for $1.50 we could not pass it up. Lily wasn't looking too sure about the ride as she went around but as soon as she got off the horse she kept saying neighs mommy neighs. Had the line not been so long before we left we would have taken her on the ride again. I love the top right corner because it looks like she is riding by herself.

The token cow picture I think everyone who has visited the zoo has. She looks so old in this picture.

Feeding the miniature horse with daddies help.

The horses were still close to the parking lot so we went had a snacks and waited and waited for the horses to come close to us. Lily started picking grass and calling `neighs yummy, yummy neighs` trying to get the horse to come see us. Finally one horse came close and they stared at each other for awhile but it didn't get close enough to feed.
